In the first part of our tour we will visit the majestic Alexander - Svirsky monastery - Russian Orthodox monastery situated deep in the woods .The golden age of this cloister falls in the 17th century. It was founded in 1487, when a monk of the Valaam Monastery, named Alexander, settled between Roschinsky and Holy lakes, 20 km to the east from Lake Ladoga and 6 km from the Svir River. During his life in the woods, he had a vision of the Holli Trinity who ordered him to build two oaken chapels dedicated to the Trinity and the Saviour's Transfiguration. These churches gave birth to the twin Trinity and the Transfiguration cloisters, collectively known as the Alexander Svirsky Monastery. You will see the unique frescoes which is over 300 years old and relics of St. Alexander Svirsky.
Next, we will go to Vvedeno-Oyatskiy woman Orthodox convent, located on the bank of the river Oyat in the East part of the Leningrad region and visit the Vvedensky Church and other buildings of the monastery complex. You will also be able to taste the mineral water from the Holly spring!
