We invite you to the author's tour. Our route includes visiting the most important places in St. Petersburg, associated with the life and work of the great Russian poet.
Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin (1799-1837) was the great Russian poet and prose writer. He not only brought Russian poetry to its highest excellence but also had a decisive influence on Russian literature in the 19th and 20th centuries. His work has been set to opera by Mikhail Glinka, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Peter Tchaikovsky.
Pushkin was both Russia's Byron and Russia's Shakespeare. His desperately romantic life - a series of ill-fated love affairs, clashes with authority, and a series of duels including his final, fatal encounter with the French cavalry officer George d'Anthès.
During out excursion we will see the houses of Olenin, Zhukovsky & Vsevolozhskiy, and the house in Kolomna, where the poet lived after graduating fr om the Lyceum. Our guide will tell you about the literary heroes of Pushkin; his participation in the club "Green lamp" and about the tragic period in his life.
You will visit the yard of the house of Volkonskaya, where he lived during last 4 months and died. Then we will go to the temple of the Saviour and visit the place of the duel on the Black river.
