On the way we will stop in the village Korostin located on the shore of a picturesque lake Ilmen, where you will see the Palace of the Russian emperors and visit the Dormition Church. Upon arrival to the city you will have a walk & visit the Trinity Church, the Church of St. George, the Resurrection Cathedral. Staraya Russa is one of the most ancient Russian cities, founded in 1167 along the great trade route “fr om the Varangians to the Greeks”. Annual archaeological excavations are held here, which bring to light a lot of materials no less interesting that in Veliky Novgorod.
Next you will make acquaintance with the main attraction of the city - the House-Museum of Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The exposition will tell you about the life of Fyodor Dostoyevsky and his family in Staraya Russa. Here Dostoyevsky wrote chapters from his novels "The Adolescent", "The Possessed" and "The Karamazov Brothers".
Staraya Russa is also famous for its mineral springs. So, in the second part of our program we will visit the oldest in Russia health Resort, founded in 1828, wh ere you can taste the best mineral water. Almost 170 years the resort makes people healthier. You are welcome!
